This is a rare souvenir program from the out-of-town tryout of AUGUST STRINDBERG's immortal masterpiece "MISS JULIE" performed in repertory with the ANTON CHEKHOV comedy "THE PROPOSAL", both starring ELISABETH BERGNER. (The productions opened January 21st, 1947 at the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia and closed February 15th, 1947 at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut, cancelling the scheduled Broadway engagement.) ..... Both plays starred ELISABETH BERGNER (shown in the cover photo) and in a supporting role in "Miss Julie" was RAYMOND BURR. CONDITION: With the exception of light edge wear, this program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian.
