50 Sheets 48 pound Heavy Weight Vellum Paper -- 8 1/2 x 11 inches Glama Natural - White Clear Color Vellum is a versatile paper that works perfectly for everything from card making to scrap booking, or anything you can imagine!. The transparent (translucent) properties allow you to use it as a separate beautiful paper on its own or as an overlay on top of another image that you can see underneath the vellum. Printed vellum can also be lighted from behind to create a beautifully illuminated image. WHAT IT FEELS LIKE: The 48 lb. weight is more substantial than the lighter weight vellum. it feels like a lightweight card stock. It is moderately heavy, rigid, and should be scored before folding to avoid cracking along the fold. Although it is not so thick that it can be used as a stand-alone wedding invitation card, it does make for a sturdy backer, wrap, top layer, etc. SOME POPULAR USES: Though 48 lb vellum is not very well suited for use as a completely sheer overlay, heavyweight 48lb vellum has a lot of other great uses! - Program cover - Printed invitation top layer - Heavyweight vellum gate fold/wrap - Printed invitation inserts/supplements (think little direction cards, registry cards, additional info, etc.) The second picture is an example of a project where the vellum was printed and used as a centerpiece with a candle lighting the printed vellum image. The translucency allows a perfect amount of light to show through and illuminate the image. You can simply place the paper in the printer as you would any regular paper and print your document or text onto it. HELPFUL PRINTING TIPS: ~ Select “economy”, “draft” or “speed” print mode (depending on the specific machine). This will lay down the least amount of ink possible, making it harder for the ink to smear. ~ Let the ink dry completely before stacking printed sheets or handling the vellum. ~ Use “transparency” mode in your paper type settings if your printer has it HELPFUL HANDLING TIPS: Vellum is a delicate paper that is best stored in a flat, dry place.
